
Malaysia stood at a critical crossroads. Once a thriving “Tiger Cub Economy,” the nation faced economic and social challenges that threatened its progress. To address these pressing issues, the Institut Penyelidikan dan Pembangunan Policy (IPPN), with Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia (GBM) as co-organizer, Fundraising Hi-Tea Forum, on Sunday, 13 October 2024. uniting thought leaders and policy experts to chart a path toward a more competitive and equitable Malaysia.
Founded in 2011, GBM is a coalition of 29 civil society organizations dedicated to promoting education reform, civil rights, and political accountability. This forum served as a crucial platform to address policy inconsistencies, the declining state of education, and strategies to restore investor confidence, key pillars necessary for sustainable national development.

A highlight of the event was the keynote address by Mr. Chandran Nair, Founder and CEO of the Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT). As a globally recognized expert in economic transformation and sustainable development, Mr. Nair delivered powerful insights on Malaysia’s potential role in leading progressive change across the region.
More than just a discussion, the Fundraising Hi-Tea Forum was a call to action, a meaningful step toward mobilizing ideas, collaboration, and reform to reshape Malaysia’s future.
