
A special screening of the award-nominated documentary film KITA, Sabah Celebrating Diversity took place in 8th December 2024 in Selangor, offering audiences a rare and heartfelt glimpse into the cultural richness of Sabah.

Told through ten compelling stories, KITA captured the essence of life in Sabah, highlighting the everyday experiences, landscapes, and traditions that define the state’s unique identity. The film was structured in three thematic chapters, Unity in Diversity, Beauty in Diversity, and Deliciousness in Diversity, each revealing the depth of Sabah’s multicultural fabric.
This intimate portrayal of Sabah was brought to life through collaboration with local communities and creatives, making it a true homegrown production. The film was nominated for Best Documentary at the 33rd Malaysian Film Festival (FFM33), a recognition of its powerful storytelling and cinematic value.


The screening event was officiated by the Minister of the National Unity Ministry (KPN), YB Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, underscoring the national significance of the film’s message. It was organised by Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia (GBM), in collaboration with Sabah Unity in Diversity Community Partners (SUIDCP), and supported by Gabungan Pertubuhan Cina Malaysia (Huazong).
